PERSONAL

I am the Research Director of La Salle Campus BCN since 2019, and Director of Research and Innovation since 2022. La Salle is an institution with two SGR consolidated and funded research groups recognized by AGAUR. The campus also houses a technology transfer center with the ACCIÓ TECNIO seal, with more than 90 researchers from the fields of management, architecture, engineering and digital arts, and more than 80 research and transfer projects regularly underway.

I have published +58 articles in JCR and Scopus indexed journals, and I have more than +110 contributions in reference conferences. I have participated in several projects financed with public and private funds, some of them can be found in this page. 

I am Associate Professor at the Department of Engineering, La Salle - Universitat Ramon Llull.

    I have co-supervised (together with Dr. Pijoan) the PhD thesis of Marcos Hervás [link] entitled "Channel Sounding and physical layer definition for the HF long-haul link between Antarctica and Spain", who defended 02-02-2016 (ETSEEEI La Salle - URL). Keywords: High Frequency (HF); Ionospheric Communications; Hostile Channel; Sounding; Direct-Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS); Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM); Single Carrier Frequency Domain Equalization (SC-FDE); Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiplexing Access (SC-FDMA). 

    Ester Vidaña-Vila defended her PhD thesis on April 6th 2022, entitled "Real-time Acoustic Event Detection and Clasification in urban Environments using Low-Cost Devices", with the maximum mark (Cum Laude) [link].

    Ferran Orga defended his PhD thesis on May 25th 2022, obtaining also the maximum mark (Cum Laude) [link]. This thesis was co-supervised with Dr. Francesc Alías. Both thesis were framed in the acoustic event detection paradigm, with a special focus on the environmental noise in cities and its impact on health.

Advisor of Claudia Mateo Segura, winner of the 1st Prize with Medal in "Premio hermano Salvador Gonzalez", organized in Jornadas de Investigación en La Salle México, in Technology and Engineering Area, in the 'advanced' category. The work was entitled "New Techniques for a Multiresolutive DS-SS CDMA control receiver", and was a Final Work for Telecommunications Engineering, published in September 2007.
